Poor Kitty, Happy Heather

Poor kitty doesn't want cat smack!

And now for a real update. So I have an internship for this summer at the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service (SITES) in their Museum on Main Street program (MoMS). Don't you love acronyms? Basically MoMS sends pre-fabricated exhibits to small towns in rural USA so that people who can't go to big cities to see museums get the opportunity to see a really good, high-quality exhibit. Isn't that lovely and feel-good?

I talked to the director of MoMS today and now I'm even more excited about it than when I first found out I got it. Basically they are sending out a new exhibit called "Journey Stories" this spring and I am going to develop online exhibits to go along with it. What's really cool is they're letting me pick what points related to the exhibit I think people would want to know more about and do research on them. Once I get everything ready I am gonna use a database template to create the online exhibits. I'm so excited because this is a lot like what my ideal job would be so woot for internships!

Also, I am going to the Outer Banks in NC for my Spring Break next week. The weather won't be Florida warm, but the resort is right on the beach so who cares if it's a little cool??? I am happy my fellow Museum Studies lady, Christina, is coming with, but I shall miss my Caroline. Silly thing with her fancy new job keeping her from taking a vacation of awesomeness! I shall try to remember to take photos.
